Planning Applications

The Commissioners are automatically deemed to be interested parties in any planning application in the Parish. That means that they get copies of every application and are entitled to submit views to the Planning Committee of the Department of Local Government & the Environment. They are also entitled to request an Appeal.

The Commissioners do not have the powers to approve or refuse an application - they can just submit their views.

If you are a close neighbour to a proposed development or if you might be otherwise affected you could be entitled to submit your own views to the Planning Committee, DOLGE, Murray House, Douglas. It is just as well to first check with Government Circular 1/06 (Click to see)** or telephone DOLGE to see whether you would be accepted to be an interested party. You can copy your comments to the Commissioners if you wish. All planning applications can be seen at The Planning Department, Murray House, Douglas.

Copies of all planning applications in Arbory can also be viewed at the Commissioners office at Garey Hollin (Gahellan), Ronague. It is best to make an appointment by phoning the Clerk on 823896.

Full information about planning laws and regulations, planning procedures, development permitted without the need for planning approval, building control and planning advice are available from DOLGE on their website. Click here for Link**
